In an amazing spot south-east of Chambéry, in the heart of the department of Savoie, you will find the magnificent camping Lac de Saint Clair. A lovely campsite for the whole family. On this site and in the surrounding area there are countless options to make your camping holiday a real pleasure. It's also a great place for relaxation.

An ideal place for a summer holiday.

The campsite is located in Detrier, a commune of La Rochette in the Savoie region of France, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, an ideal place for a summer camping holiday. The campsite is open from April to September. The elongated, slightly sloping terrain with large trees is situated in a beautiful nature where there is a lot to do and discover. For example, fishing enthusiasts will love the nearby fishing lake, Lac Saint Clair. You can swim for free in the local swimming pool.

Taking advantage of a superb location to visit the area, near the thermal baths of Allevard les Bains and the ski resort of Collet d'Allevard, Valgelon-La Rochette is at equal distance from Albertville, Chambery or Grenoble. At the foot of the Belledonne massif, the Lac Saint Clair campsite welcomes you in a wooded setting, offering you peace, relaxation and rest. The campsite overlooks Lake Saint Clair, a comfortable place for fishing and walking with a health trail, outdoor fitness equipment, a leisure centre with children's games and a water park as well as a snack restaurant from May to September.

With your own camping equipment or by renting accommodation.

On the campsite you have several possibilities for your stay. First of all, of course, there are pitches and mobile homes or chalets for rent. So you can use your own camping equipment on one of the beautiful pitches or rent one of the accommodations, such as a mobile home or chalet. There are various activities for all ages to enjoy here.

Sports possibilities.

A holiday in the mountains naturally offers many sporting possibilities. You are in the right place if you like mountain scenery and outdoor activities. Of course, there are beautiful hiking and biking routes, even the biker will end up here in paradise. Would you prefer to get some fresh air for a challenge? Then paragliding could be an interesting option. And of course this area is also perfect for canyoning and Via Ferrata. Many outdoor activities can be enjoyed at different levels so that everyone can have a great time. Tired of all these sporting efforts? Then you can relax in the thermal baths. Only 8 kilometres from the campsite you will find the Allevard baths. This is not the only place where you can enjoy the wellness facilities, there are also thermal baths in Aix-les-Bains, Brides-les-Bains, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains or Uriage-les-Bains.

Special challenges.

Sports activities can often be booked at the reception desk or at the local tourist office. The choice is huge if you like to be active. Most people know the challenges of walking and cycling, but it's also fun to try something different.

Paragliding.

Paragliding is also called "screen flying" and can be learned by everyone. It is actually a flexible wing, made of a special fabric and a seat for the pilot. The routes are secured by a steel cable to which you can attach yourself. There are also often other aids on the route, such as pins, iron stairs, supports and suspension and rope bridges. This also makes it easier to cross a gorge from one mountain wall to another.

Visiting the cities.

Lazing around in the mobile home or tent is of course also an option. The pitches are spacious enough for this. It's wonderful to enjoy the sunny weather in summer. Would you prefer to take a trip to a beautiful city? What about Chambéry, the city of the Dukes of Savoy with its impressive patrimony or Albertville. Albertville hosted the Winter Olympics in 1992 and the house of the games is still there. But there are also many terraces, beautiful shops and a historical and architectural heritage. Albertville is also the gateway to the Bauges and Vanoise nature parks.

Grenoble is the capital of the Alps and this city, with its historical centre, is really worth a visit. The lively squares, picturesque shopping streets and numerous places of interest make this day a real pleasure. Annecy is also called the pearl or the Venice of the Alps. This beautiful city with its 12th century Palais de l'Isle is wedged between the lake and the mountains.

In the Alps, you can not only enjoy beautiful nature, but the food also has many surprises for your taste buds. This mountainous region is known for its many specialities. Of course, there are the local cheeses and wines or the delicious sausages with diot. Then there is the authentic raclette, tartiflette, stuffing and tourtons which will surely be appreciated during a pleasant dinner. Or enjoy a delicious Savoyard tart or alpine pastry on the sunny terrace.

Peace and abundance to discover.

If you look at the different sites that are ACSI and the ANWB, you will see that there are still plenty of camping possibilities in France. It's exactly what you prefer.
